In Forbes’s recently published Top 100 CEOs list, major players are highlighted.  Innovators the likes of Tesla’s Elon Musk and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos are championed for their prolific status.  But readers quickly came to realize that something seemed to be missing in the list: highlights including female CEOs.

Out of the 100 CEOs featured in the list, only one is a woman.  Barbara Rentler, CEO of Ross Stores is featured in the article, although her representation appears minimal.  (Forbes forgot to include a photo of Rentler.) Forbes editor, Randall Lane eventually released a statement to apologize for the “flawed” list.

As a woman at the executive level, Karin Lockovitch is incredibly disappointed to acknowledge that in spite of major strides, there is still a major inequality between men and women in corporate spaces.  Whether intentional or not, the list released by Forbes echoes a prominent issue: female CEOs need more representation and recognition.
